Lazy Susan Furniture Do Some Good: 2025 Charity Update

Lazy Susan Furniture Do Some Good: 2025 Charity Update

At Lazy Susan Furniture, giving back isn’t just an initiative — Doing some good is part of our company’s DNA.

Throughout 2025, the team has worked tirelessly to support a wide array of causes, spanning environmental sustainability, health, education, and community well-being.

Through our flagship Do Some Good campaign, we have raised an impressive £23,290 this year alone, contributing to the cumulative total of £552,529 raised since the campaign’s inception.

This year’s efforts have combined creativity, community engagement, and the simple joy of sharing our outdoor spaces.

From friendly photo competitions to environmental donations and charitable furniture initiatives, at Lazy Susan, Michael and the team continue to prove that a garden furniture set can do more than furnish a patio; it can make a real difference.

Snap and Donate: Photos That Plant Trees

In 2025, our long-standing Snap & Donate campaign continues to inspire customers across the UK and EU to share photos of their new Lazy Susan furniture beautifully set up in their gardens.

Each uploaded photo triggers a charitable donation: £30 to a selected charity or the planting of 30 trees via Tree Nation.

The results have been inspiring. This year, contributions have so far included £1,554 to Tree Nation UK and £765 to Tree Nation EU, demonstrating the company’s commitment to sustainability and reforestation.

The initiative merges the joy of sharing our garden spaces with tangible environmental benefits, creating a campaign that’s visually engaging and purpose-driven.

Photo Competition: Rewarding Creativity and Charity

Our Summer 2025 photo competition invited participants across the UK and EU to showcase their best garden setups. The prize? £1,000 (or €1,000) to donate to the winner’s chosen charity.

This year’s UK winner, James — whose stunning photo is shown above — chose the British Alzheimer’s Society as the beneficiary of his prize, reflecting the campaign’s dedication to supporting meaningful causes.

In addition to the winner, our competition and Snap & Donate initiative helped generate donations to several charities through customer photo submissions, including:

  • Cancer Research UK – £1,350
  • British Heart Foundation – £960
  • Battersea Dogs Home – £720
  • Water Aid – £790
  • UNICEF – £420
  • World Land Trust – £420

By linking creativity and philanthropy, we’ve ensured that participants can make a real-world impact while sharing their garden design achievements.

Friendship Benches: Supporting Community Schools and Charities

Continuing a much-loved initiative, we offered free Friendship Benches to schools and charities throughout the UK and Germany.

Designed as a safe space for conversation and reflection, these benches aim to foster mental well-being and community connection.

While the response this year was modest, with 8 benches distributed, the impact of each installation is profound.

Every bench has found a home where children, students, and community members can pause, reflect, and connect with others — a small act of furniture creating significant social value.

The total value of Friendship Benches donated in 2025 was £716, as recorded up to 18th September.

If you’re a school or charity and would love a free metal garden bench for your communal space, we’d love to hear from you.

Staff Contributions and Charitable Support

Lazy Susan’s employees have also played an instrumental role in driving our charitable impact this year.

Staff donations on 30th May contributed £7,500 in the UK and €6,000 (£5,114.40) across the EU, further highlighting our culture of giving from within.

Additionally, a raffle cash donation of £60 and contributions from a Charity Quiz Night (£105) further exemplified the broad spectrum of our effort to give back in 2025.

Our regular stock donations to our long term partner, the British Heart Foundation, has continued to support their critical work, while also reducing waste and promoting a circular economy.

Donating unsold or lightly used furniture to charitable causes ensures items find new purpose while benefiting those in need. In a recent partnership report we received, Allison Swaine-Hughes, BHF Retail Director, said:

"A huge thank you Lazy Susan for your support and partnership over the past 12 months. Our retail partnerships are an essential part of our success, and we couldnt do what we do without your support. Without our wonderful partners we wouldnt be able to raise the funds to create a world where everyone has a healthier heart for longer."

The Broader Impact: Do Some Good Campaign

Our Do Some Good campaign, first launched in 2015, has steadily grown into a cornerstone of our business strategy.

Year by year, the program has delivered tangible results, not only supporting charities but also inspiring customers and staff to participate in giving.

Looking Ahead: Continuing our Legacy of Giving

2026 will see us build on the success of Snap & Donate and the photo competition, while continuing to gift Friendship Benches and donate returned stock to worthwhile causes.

With an ambitious target of £1,000,000 to raise, we’re inviting our customers to join us on the journey. Every time you share a photo or your new garden furniture, you’re helping to grow something even more beautiful — real change.

We remain steadfast in our commitment to mental health, environmental sustainability, education, and community development. And by leveraging our position as a leader in outdoor furniture, we want to demonstrate that business success and social responsibility can go hand in hand.

Do Some Good is more than a program — it’s a philosophy. With £23,290 raised this year, the ongoing support of staff, customers, and the wider community, and a cumulative impact of £552,528 since 2015, we continue to turn everyday garden moments into opportunities for meaningful change.

In a world where the small acts of generosity often make the largest difference, our approach proves that furniture can do more than furnish homes — it can build a better world.
