What colour parasol is best for sun protection?

Darker colours like navy often block more UV rays, but lighter colours like stone or green reflect heat better.

How do you know what size parasol to buy?

Match the parasol size to your furniture. A 2.5 metre parasol suits a bistro set or smaller table, while 3 metres plus works best for larger dining tables and loungers.

How to pick a parasol?

Consider diameter, colour, whether you need it to tilt, ease of use (all our outdoor umbrellas have a wind-up handle) and base weight.

Can the sun get through a parasol?

Whilst a garden parasol can offer quite a bit of protection, it is possible for the sun to penetrate. It’s best to locate the table in partial shade if possible, wear UV sunscreen and limit exposure to the sun’s rays in the middle of the day.

Do parasols stop rain?

Our parasols are water-resistant (and quick-drying) but are not waterproof. They provide some rain protection but are not designed for that purpose. They are designed to provide shade from the sun.

Can I leave my parasol out in the rain?

It’s best to close and store parasols during rain or storms to prevent damage and discolouration.

Do parasol bases fit all parasols?

No. Check the pole diameter and base insert compatibility before purchasing.
