Lazy Susan was founded in 2007 by the business owner, Michael Scott, literally from his garden shed, where he realized that aluminium garden furniture was the best solution for long-term durability and low maintenance.
Since then, more than 20,000 garden furniture sets and 100,000 chairs have been successfully delivered.
Lazy Susan exhibited at many Garden Shows in the first few years including Surrey County Show, RHS Malvern Spring Gardening Show, Suffolk County Show, Edenbridge, and Oxted Show, Newbury Show, Stansted House Garden Show, Midland Game Fair, and Parham House Country Show.
In 2011 Lazy Susan moved to a dedicated warehouse in Chichester after the expansion in the European market, which started in 2013 with the introduction of the French, German, Spanish and Italian websites. Apart from the main European markets (France, Germany, Holland, Spain, and Italy), Lazy Susan also started shipping garden furniture on a regular basis to Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, and other European countries.
Between 2015 and 2019 the business grew by 84%. The European market grew to 45% of the total annual sales, with Germany and France growing by 232% and 75% respectively during this period.
Lazy Susan also prides itself on the generous donations we give every year, with £20,000 generated and donated to charitable causes in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
Up to this day Lazy Susan has donated over £200,000 for great causes across the UK and abroad, with more than £50,000 donated only in 2020.
In 2021 Lazy Susan moved into a new office that currently counts 30+ employees, including French, German, Mandarin, Italian, Bulgarian and Spanish speakers, based in the central office in Southsea, Portsmouth. In the same year, Lazy Susan also brought the majority of the warehouse and dispatch operations in-house.
We’re also thrilled to share that we have made it to the 2021’s Lightning 50 list! A list that reports the Fastest Growing Ecommerce Companies every year. Furthermore, our excellent customer service is proven by the exceptional 4.7 rating on Trust Pilot.
2021 is also the year when Lazy Susan established a warehouse in the Netherlands to service European customers.
Lazy Susan will always aim to deliver excellent customer service with our superior products all over Europe. We're not only aiming at expanding our product range very soon, but we also want to grow our brand in the existing and future markets.
