As the Founder of Lazy Susan my days can be quite varied, I might be on a trip to see our Digital Advertising Agency in the Netherlands and then move on to meeting our EU Warehouse I which is about 100km away, or I might be spending time with my Colleagues in the Buying Department helping to decide on which products to inbound.
– What is the best thing about working at Lazy Susan?
My colleagues who I spend a lot of time with at work are an amazing, diverse and multicultural group, currently there are around 24 of us working from our Southsea offices and I get a real sense of satisfaction from helping to develop this amazing Team.
– What makes you proud to work at Lazy Susan?
As Founder of Lazy Susan there is so much to be proud of, to summarise I would say that our Customer feedback is what makes me proud to work at Lazy Susan , we have constantly rated at 4.7 out of 5 on Trust Pilot and 99.8% of customers would recommend us to a friend. You can't say better than that.
– How are you working towards the future you want?
I am empowering my colleagues to take on many of the responsibilities that I have previously had which will enable me to have more time for our Charity ventures, which we call Do Some Good, and which has raised more than £370,000 to date. My ambition is to donate a total of more than £1,000,000
– What advice would you give to someone joining Lazy Susan?
Try to exceed your expectations of yourself and your colleagues expectations of you. Lazy Susan will do everything to support you to achieve this and always try to keep on learning, be prepared to fail, and be adaptable, enjoy yourself

I stay focused and motivated by setting myself clear goals by identifying the areas I want to improve both professionally and personally. Adjusting to a new workplace takes time. Be patient with yourself and your colleagues, and don't be too hard on yourself if things don't go perfectly at first. Focus on learning and improving every day. Don't be afraid to ask questions.

My typical day at Lazy Susan consists of providing the best service to all our customers from the UK, France, Spain and Italy and exceed their expectations. I deal with telephone and e-mail queries, and am always on the lookout on how to improve our customers' experience.

Our "Do Some Good" campaign fills my heart with pride and joy, because it enables us to donate to good causes and charity organisations who help the less fortunate.

I am given the opportunity to progress, learn and train in areas that are of my interest. During the quieter season, I take advantage of the tools provided by Lazy Susan to expand my knowledge and competencies.

– Tell us about your role. What does a day in your life at Lazy Susan look like?
Half of my time is spent looking after products on the website, keeping the content up to date and improving listings. The other half of my time I spend on marketing projects, from social media and email outreach to print media. I also create the company newsletter each week!

Definitely the team. Everyone here genuinely cares, not just about the company but about each other.
– What makes you proud to work at Lazy Susan?
The Do Some Good initiative. Lazy Susan donates hundreds of thousands of pounds to charities all over the world. All staff members are encouraged to get involved, too, whether through nominating charities to help or volunteering for projects.
– How are you working towards the future you want?
I'm only a couple of years into my career so I'm still learning every day. My manager makes sure I'm getting a broad introduction to the e-commerce and marketing world through my day to day work, and the company has set us up with online courses to develop ourselves.
– What advice would you give to someone joining Lazy Susan?
This is advice I'm yet to take myself, but: pack a lunch! There are so many incredible cafes and coffee shops near the office that it's far too easy to spend money on fancy sandwiches, salads and flat whites.

My main role is in Customer Service, however I am part of the order processing team as well, especially helping out during high season. No day is the same, and I am always learning new things.

I work in the Logistics and Fulfilment team, and I help the Customer Service as well when needed. A standard day at Lazy Susan is very busy in the high season, but during the low season there is more time to discover other sides of the business and work on other projects.

My role at Lazy Susan is very dynamic and involves managing the company's digital content. Being a part of a small team, I often take on a range of roles in different projects. Knowing that our work contributes to helping others is truly gratifying, and it's a big part of what makes me proud to work here. The other major thing is the positive customer feedback and thousands of images we receive. It's always great to see all the personal images that customers share. These images allow us to connect with our customers on a more personal level and see how our products fit into their lives. It's very rewarding to know that we're creating products that people genuinely enjoy and that make a positive impact on their lives.

At Lazy Susan, there are lots of courses and training at my disposal allowing me to develop my skills and grow professionally in areas that interest me. I try to take advantage of them and stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends.

The Marketing team is involved in so many projects and initiatives, no two days have been the same for me as a new starter in early 2023. From ensuring customers have the best experience on all digital touchpoints to thinking creatively, time really flies by at Lazy Susan.

As a data analyst and assistant IT manager at Lazy Susan, my role is multifaceted and requires me to wear different hats throughout the day. In general, my main responsibility is to ensure that my colleagues have functioning systems and equipment so that they can perform their jobs efficiently.

I split my time between the parts despatch warehouse and the customer service centre. I enjoy both roles as it gives me the opportunity to represent the company and deal with customers directly whilst also having the opportunity to be involved with the products that Lazy Susan offers. I am also involved in various projects and product assessment and development.

From our office in Portsmouth I communicate with our factories around the world and I handle diverse tasks with the aim of making our product better.

We take on good challenges, there's always more to learn and build, so it never gets boring, narrow, or repetitive.

There are diverse nationalities and foreign language speakers among our core office team and we are able to operate across borders. We have a safe and sustainable approach and I'm proud we stay stable, even when stormy conditions arrive. Every part of the business continually improves as it regenerates from one season to the next.
– How are you working towards the future you want?
As the amount of furniture we make has grown and grown, we've experienced matters of industrial design, materials and sustainability. This is driving better choices in our production. I want innovative product leadership to continue to excite and delight our customers.

Show what you can do by listening carefully, and adapting your direction. We like questions, we like communication. Note how we want to improve, but remember that change needs the support of your patience and your continued efforts.
