This isn't a subject we've touched on yet in the Lazy Susan blog, but it is another area we have some experience and nothing finishes a garden (apart from great Lazy Susan garden furniture) like a good pond or water feature.
A good well-designed garden pond can dramatically change the entire appearance of your garden. Flowers, fountains, pond lights and other garden accessories are a great way to make an ordinary garden look great.
These outdoor additions are designed to complement all types of home styles and designs. However, if you're looking for creative ways to enhance the appearance of your garden, then ponds and accessories may be just what you're looking for...
Ponds have always been a popular home improvement trend, mainly due to the wide variety of easy-to-use materials, kits and supplies that are available in DIY stores and the fact it's a job that can be completed in a day.
If you want to add a basic DIY garden pond, then here are a few great videos that will help you...
To kick things off, we've got this great video from WW2Dynamite that looks at a simple DIY garden pond project from beginning to completion.
At the more pro end of the scale is the series of vids from the Pond Digger. This is a great Step-By-Step series with instructions on how to build a pond for fish. Shows you how to get it right the first time and its all done by a professional builder.
I've only posted the first part, but get on YouTube and check out the full series. It features some great tips & tricks about designing and laying out your fish pond before you start digging and they even get onto building waterfalls etc in some of the later parts of the series.
And last up on the building side is the Aquascape range. Its a great pond system and their video shows how easy it is to build a pond with their kits. Aquascape expert, Ed Beaulieu, walks you through the 20 steps of building an Aquascape Ecosystem Pond and gives you great insights into the techniques needed to make your project a truly spectacular water garden. The flip side to building a new pond is to look after it...
In this video from Diane Mumm Garden Videos, they look at how to spring clean a Pond.
Whilst this 2 part video from the Southwest Yard & Garden series features a master gardener who shows the right way to clean out a water pond.
And last but not least, if you're just looking for a little inspiration, then this final video is the one for you!
