Lazy Susan make first big charitable donation of 2021

As part of our ongoing Do Some Good initiative we’ve just made our first big charitable donation of 2021 to Arms Around The Child.

Here at Lazy Susan, Michael Scott and the team have just made our first big charitable donation of 2021...

As part of our ongoing Do Some Good campaign we’ve just donated £10,500 to Arms Around The Child.

This is an organisation we first supported at the back end of 2020, and it is one that we were keen to partner with again as our charity initiative moves into its eighth year.

The donation will be received as part of AATC’s feeding programme for 50 children affected by HIV/AIDS in Jaipur, India at their Faith Home.

Our donation will provide at least 2 nutritious meals a day with snacks, additional milk, vitamins and treats, which are vital to their wellbeing and adherence to their Antiretroviral (ARV) treatment for 1 year.

About Arms Around The Child

Arms Around The Child Logo
Arms Around The Child is a global charity that are looking to build a better and kinder environment for children living in extreme adversity. As they say:

We can all participate in a kinder world for children, because if not us, then who?

Arms Around The Child are simply asking us to help them create a powerful impact by refusing to turn ours back on our human family and to show determination in striving to change the lives of others in less fortunate circumstances than ours.

You can help us to help them!

Ellie Milner, Co-Founder and Exec Director of Arms Around The Child sent us the following message when we made our first donation in 2020:

Thank you so much for your donation, it will make a huge difference to the work we do with children living in extreme adversity. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts that we are able to provide this direct support from your donation. 100% of the funds donated by the public goes directly to our work. Once again a huge thank you from us, all the children and organisations that we support to live happy healthy lives with love hope and respect. AATC is now supporting a new programme which is a direct donation to a mother in need www.fundamom.net and we also run a volunteer programme www.vocationalimpact.org.

About the Faith Home in Jaipur

India is home to the largest number of AIDS Orphans in the world. These children endure stigma and face an impenetrable barrier in Indian society.

Smriti Singh founded Faith as a safe home for HIV+ orphans and children affected by HIV/AIDS. A place to provide them with specialist care and the support they need.

AATC Faith Home in Jaipur

The number of children she took in grew rapidly as there was simply no other care homes that would take in HIV+ orphans in Jaipur. 55 boys and girls now call Faith their home.

Smriti has dedicated her life to giving these children the normal loving life they deserve, and she makes sure they live it to the fullest.

The kids are thriving in a way no one could have imagined. Aged between 5 and 18 they are all attending regular schools and colleges and are excelling in their studies.

Faith offers the children a loving home, respect, medical treatment oversight and education. They are nurtured and loved and given the confidence to pursue their dreams

About our Do Some Good charitable initiative

Our Do Some Good charity initiative has raised over £90,000 to date for great causes across the UK and around the world

In 2020 alone we were able to donate almost £30,000 to our chosen charity partners, including; Colonel Tom's Walk for the NHS, FareShare, FoodCycle, St Wilfrid's Hospice, 11-year-old Ted who ran a marathon for Living Paintings and The Lifehouse.

All of this is only possible because of the photographs you send us!

We want to donate even more in 2021 to our chosen charity partners.
